Fork Union Celebrates Standout Athletes at Fall Athletic Awards Ceremony

Fork Union Military Academy honored its fall athletic teams and standout performers during the Fall Athletic Awards Ceremony held this past Wednesday in the Estes Dining Hall. Coaches, cadets, and staff gathered to celebrate a season defined by growth, competitiveness, and significant achievements across six programs: Postgraduate Football, Varsity Football, JV Football, Varsity Soccer, JV Soccer, and Cross Country.

Cross Country:
The Cross Country team recorded another impressive finish this year, placing second overall in the Virginia Prep League Championships and sixth at the VISAA State Championships.
Most Valuable Runner – Robert Callahan (All-Prep, All-State, All-Central Virginia)
Outstanding Performer – David Eaton
Coaches Award – Nicholas Coleman
Best Newcomer – Austin Knowlton

Varsity Soccer:
Varsity Soccer posted a 6–11 record, marking its highest win total since 2020. Giovanni Garcia became the Academy's first All-Prep honoree since 2017.
MVP – Giovanni Garcia
Most Improved – Edelimro Medina
Coaches Award – Christian Escobar

Varsity Football:
With a 4–6 record, Varsity Football recorded its best season since 2019 and celebrated a Coach of the Year selection along with six All-Prep honors.

Forrest Lee Heil Award – Bryant Ray
Sullivan Award – Nehemiah Allen
David S. Hatfield Blanket Award – Sequan Wiley

Postgraduate Football:
The PG Football program secured another winning year, finishing 5–4 and extending its streak of winning seasons to more than a decade.
R.L. Pulliam Award – Alex Conley
Sullivan Award – Reilly Bechtel

JV Football:
The JV Football team closed the fall with a 3–5 record.
MVP – Aiden Nichols
Coaches Award – Jase Cohen

JV Soccer:
JV Soccer finished 1–5, showing continued development and determination.
MVP – Noah Wasilewski
Coaches Award – Hebaloy Baranyema

The ceremony served as a celebration of perseverance, sportsmanship, and the steady rise of Fork Union athletics.
