FORK UNION, VA -- Fork Union Military Academy has named Steven Jeune as the Assistant Coach, Recruiting & Defensive Coordinator for the Academy's postgraduate lacrosse program. 
 

Jeune joined Fork Union in July 2026 and will also serve as a Residence Director, supporting cadets in the residential life environment and contributing to their growth beyond the athletic field. 
 

"Coach J brings a strong background in coaching, recruiting, student development, and leadership," said Chris Panos, Head Postgraduate Lacrosse Coach. "His experience building programs, mentoring student-athletes, and developing young men aligns directly with what we are trying to accomplish at Fork Union." 
 

Jeune brings more than a decade of coaching experience across youth, club, and collegiate lacrosse. A former student-athlete at Franklin Pierce University, he competed in NCAA Division II lacrosse in the Northeast-10 Conference, one of the nation's most competitive Division II conferences. 
 

During his time at Franklin Pierce, Jeune was heavily involved in campus leadership and student-athlete advocacy. He represented the men's lacrosse program on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was later elected Co-Chair, helping lead initiatives focused on student-athlete engagement, leadership development, and community service. His commitment to his teammates, campus, and community earned him the Men's Lacrosse Coaches Award during his sophomore year and the university's Athletics Community Service Award as a senior. 
 

Jeune began his coaching career in 2013 as a U15 Select Lacrosse Coach in Woburn, Massachusetts, where he worked with young athletes to develop their skills, confidence, and understanding of the game. In 2016, he joined CroArt Sports as a Program Coordinator, managing men's leagues, supporting tournament operations, and leading youth lacrosse clinics. 
 

In 2021, Jeune was selected as the inaugural head coach of the Florida Polytechnic University MCLA Men's Lacrosse Program. Tasked with building the program from the ground up, he established team culture, recruited student-athletes, developed organizational structure, and oversaw all program operations during his tenure from 2021 to 2023. 
 

In addition to coaching, Jeune has advised and mentored college student-athletes, helping them navigate academics, leadership opportunities, personal development, and career preparation. His approach emphasizes accountability, character, and success beyond athletics. 
 

At Fork Union, Jeune will oversee defensive development and assist with recruiting efforts for the postgraduate lacrosse program while serving as a mentor within the Academy's residential community. His combined background in coaching, student development, and higher education allows him to provide a comprehensive approach to student-athlete development as players prepare for collegiate opportunities and life beyond the field.
