SHORT STORY: Fork Union Military Academy's Postgraduate Lacrosse team earned a hard-fought overtime victory at Chowan University on Sunday, improving to 1-1 on the season.
With just 14 players available, the Blue Devils battled for 60 minutes before taking the game into overtime and securing the road victory. QUOTE: "I was extremely proud of the effort, grit and resiliency our team showed tonight, especially with only 14 players available to participate," said head coach
Chris Panos. "To battle for 60 minutes and take it to overtime against a competitive Chowan team says a lot about our character and mental toughness. There are certainly many things we will strive to improve upon, but just really proud of how our guys competed, stayed connected and never quit to earn the victory.
"We'll learn and grow from this experience and get back to work as we prepare for our next challenge on October 17 on the road against NCAA D-2 Davis & Elkins, NCAA D-3 Washington & Jefferson and NCAA D-3 Bethany College in Elkins, West Virginia."
