Olalla Casas Earns Prestigious Academic All-America Honors

FORK UNION, VA – Senior Andrés Olalla Casas of Fork Union Military Academy's swimming program has been named to the prestigious 2025–26 National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association of America (NISCA) Academic All-America Team, the organization announced Friday.

"For Andrés to qualify as an Academic All-American in swimming says a lot about his commitment to everything he does," said head coach Jon Larson. "He has always put in extra time in the pool to hone his skills, while also going above and beyond in the classroom."

Olalla Casas, the son of Ricardo Olalla Guerra and María Casas López of Madrid, Spain, has been a standout student-athlete at the Academy since the 11th grade. This season, he delivered strong performances in the pool, placing 11th in the 50 freestyle and helping the 4x50 freestyle relay team to a 14th-place finish at the VISAA State Championships.

He also played a key role in leading the team to a fourth-place finish at the Prep League Championships, scoring in the 100 breaststroke and contributing to the 200 medley relay. For his efforts, he was honored with the team's Coaches Award this season.

This recognition highlights the exceptional dedication of student-athletes across the nation who excel both athletically and academically. Of the more than 353,000 students participating in high school aquatics programs nationwide, only approximately 2% earn the distinction of being named a High School All-American.

Congratulations to Andrés on this well-deserved achievement.
