DATE: Friday, February 13–Saturday, February 14, 2026
LOCATION: Richmond, Va. | SwimRVA
RESULTS: 19th place (31 teams)
SHORT STORY: Fork Union Military Academy's swimming program placed 19th at the 2025–26 VISAA State Championships this past weekend at SwimRVA. The Blue Devils recorded seven top-16 performances, including three top-11 finishes, and totaled 33 team points.
Entering the meet seeded to score just eight points, Fork Union far exceeded expectations with a strong overall team effort and multiple lifetime-best performances.
QUOTE: "I am extremely proud of how our swimmers finished out the season at States," said head coach Jon Larson. "Going into the meet, we were only seeded to score eight total points, but with the guys swimming 100% best times and advancing to more finals swims, we ended up with 33.
"I have to hand it to Keen Wang and Brandon Scheel, who swam the 500 freestyle twice, the 200 freestyle relay twice, and still posted lifetime bests in the 400 freestyle relay — which they also swam twice — all in one day. But it wasn't just them. Liam Jenson, Leen Wang, and Beau Washington all chipped in with best times on the relays.
"Starting the second day, we were just a handful of points behind two schools that had beaten us earlier in the season. I pointed out that we needed to beat them in the final relay by a few places and swim best times to do it. They rose to the challenge and did just that."
