SCORE: Fork Union 20, Virginia State 6
RECORD: 2–0
SHORT STORY: Fork Union Military Academy's Postgraduate Lacrosse program delivered a dominant 20–6 victory over Division II opponent Virginia State University on Saturday afternoon, closing out Parent's Weekend with an impressive team performance at Stadium Field.
QUOTE: Head Coach
Chris Panos praised his team's balanced effort and unselfish play:
"It was a great performance to wrap up Parent's Weekend and play in front of a good home crowd that saw contributions across the board on offense once again. Players continue to develop synergy and trust as a cohesive unit, and the fact that every goal came off an assist speaks volumes about our team-first mindset and commitment to unselfish play."
"Our defensive unit, including the goaltenders, was outstanding holding our opponent to just six goals. They cleared the ball efficiently, which helped us maintain possession and sustain pressure throughout the game."
"We dominated at the faceoff X and on ground balls, which allowed us to control the pace and rhythm of the game. What stood out even more was our discipline, committing just three penalties all game. That shows our ability to play fast and physical while maintaining composure and emotional control."
"While there are still miscues and turnovers we need to clean up, we're eager to get back to work and prepare for our upcoming road trip on October 18 in Elkins, West Virginia, where we'll face NCAA Division II Davis & Elkins at 12 PM, followed by Division III programs Bethany College at 1 PM and Washington & Jefferson College at 3 PM."
