SHORT STORY: Fork Union Military Academy's swimming team had a strong showing at the Woodberry Forest Invitational, defeating two of the three teams competing. The Blue Devils defeated Woodberry Forest, 87-81, and Miller School, 114-35, while dropping by one point to Collegiate School this past Tuesday evening at the Ruffin Memorial Natatorium.
QUOTE: "We had a successful showing at the Woodberry Forest Invitational," said head coach Jon Larson. "We came out with wins against Woodberry Forest and Miller School and only lost to Collegiate by one point. We are seeing consistent time drops with almost every cadet and if we stay on course, we could be fielding one of our largest contingents Fork Union has had in many years at the State Championships. It's not just our state qualifiers doing well, many of our first-year cadets have shown remarkable improvement and are starting to realize qualifying for States is becoming the norm."
