SHORT STORY:
Fork Union Military Academy's outdoor track and field team turned in another strong performance at the Run 804 Invitational, held this past weekend at Henrico High School. The Blue Devils' distance runners led the way, posting top-10 finishes in a highly competitive field.
QUOTE: "Coming off a win last week, we set our sights on chasing some fast times, and we were successful," said head coach Winston Brown. "Isaiah Kittrell broke 11 seconds in the 100 for the first time in his career, which is a huge milestone. Senior Phillipe Lianavwa dropped two seconds in the 400, clocking in at 53.6, that will really help us down the road. Our 4x100 team held their own against an elite field, and our distance guys were outstanding.
Malachi Walsh is getting close to breaking the 2-minute barrier in the 800, and our crew in the 1600 ran great races."
