RICHMOND, VA – Four members of the Fork Union Military Academy Postgraduate Basketball team have been recognized with All-Elite Prep League honors, as announced by the EPL on Tuesday. Jordan Clayton was named to the First Team, while Kaleb Spencer and Isaiah Vick earned Second Team honors. John Mobley was recognized with an Honorable Mention selection.
"It's a great honor for our program and players to be recognized by the Elite Prep League. Our players worked hard to earn these distinguished honors," said head coach Bob Williams. "Jordan Clayton showed why he is perhaps the best lead guard in the EPL. Isaiah Vick had a great EPL season and is one of the most athletic forwards in the league. Kaleb Spencer also had a great season and showed that he is perhaps the best 3-point shooting big in the EPL. Finally, John Mobley emerged from a pre-season of injuries to have a great EPL season and proved he is one of the toughest guards in the league."
Elite Prep League Performances:
- Jordan Clayton (son of Monica Clayton, North Dinwiddie, VA) led the Blue Devils in scoring, averaging 16.1 points and 6.3 rebounds per game during conference play. He shot 35.8% from the field and an impressive 38.5% from three-point range.
- Isaiah Vick (son of Chanise and Dwight Vick, Gainesville, VA) averaged 14.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game, shooting 48.6% in league play.
- Kaleb Spencer (son of Kristi Spencer, Manteo, NC) earned all-conference honors with averages of 12.6 points, 9.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game, boasting a 53.8% shooting percentage from the field and an impressive 61.5% from beyond the arc in EPL competition.
- John Mobley (son of John and Rondo Mobley, Philadelphia, PA) was recognized with Honorable Mention honors, averaging 12.8 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, while shooting 47.7% from the field and 36.7% from three-point range.
Fork Union finished the regular season 24-9 overall with a 6-4 league record, securing the No. 5 seed for the Elite Prep League Tournament. The Blue Devils will face No. 4-seed Perkiomen School on Tuesday, March 4, at 3:45 p.m. at Richard Bland College.
Before the EPL Tournament, Fork Union will compete in the Big Shots National Tournament on Friday, February 28, where they will take on Tribulation Academy (TX) in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Tip-off is set for 3:05 p.m.
