RECORD: 5-4
STORY: The Fork Union Military Academy Postgraduate Football team closed out its season on a high note, earning a hard-fought 23–6 road victory over Delaware Valley University's JV team on Monday afternoon. With the win, Fork Union finishes the season with a 5–4 record.
Fork Union set the tone early when
Okie Edwards opened the game with a big kickoff return to set up excellent field position. Quarterback
Joshua Sims capitalized on the opportunity, connecting with
Adon Chenault for the first touchdown of the game, followed by a successful extra point from
Tristan Naifeh.
In the second half, Fork Union struck again as
Ethan Medley found Edwards for another touchdown. A creative two-point conversion followed, with
Alex Bryson connecting with
Elijah Stevenson in the end zone. Fork Union continued to move the ball efficiently behind hard runs from
Chase Belin and
Reilly Bechtel, while Medley's scrambling ability kept drives alive. Additional contributions came from
Caljuan Tucker,
Keinard Tyler,
Alex Lake, Stevenson,
Dominic Diaz-Ellis, Edwards, and Chenault, each making key catches and big plays.
Special teams also made a major impact. When Delaware Valley attempted an onside kick,
Diego Enriquez made a heads-up play snagging the ball out of the air and returning it for a touchdown. Medley once again found Stevenson for the two-point conversion to seal the scoring.
Defensively, Fork Union displayed toughness and discipline, holding Delaware Valley to just one touchdown while forcing multiple turnovers. The defense came up with three interceptions from Raymone Whitner, Enriquez, and
Alex Moore.
Willie DeSantis recorded two sacks and several tackles for loss, while
Adam Ramadan,
Daevon Crampton,
Jack Earley, and
John Welborn all added sacks in key moments to stall DelVal drives.
