WHAT HAPPENED: Fork Union Military Academy's Postgraduate Football team delivered a commanding 43–9 win over Ohio Valley Community Christian in its home opener Sunday afternoon at Stadium Field. The Blue Devils dominated all three phases of the game—offense, defense, and special teams—to even their record at 3–3 on the season.
Special teams set the tone early as
Keinard Tyler sparked the opening drive with a massive kickoff return.
Tristan Naifeh put Fork Union on the board with a field goal, later adding another and going a perfect 5-for-5 on extra-point attempts. The special teams unit continued to shine when
Willie DeSantis blocked a punt recovered in the end zone by
Diego Enriquez for a touchdown. On a failed two-point conversion by OVCC,
Joey Sipina forced a fumble that
Sam Williams recovered and returned for additional points.
Offensively, the Blue Devils spread the ball around with strong play from multiple quarterbacks and receivers. Touchdown receptions came from
Okie Edwards (from Josh Sims),
Elijah Stevenson (from
Alex Bryson), and
Dominic Diaz-Ellis (from
Ethan Medley). Edwards, Diaz-Ellis, and Tyler also contributed key receptions to sustain drives throughout the game.
Defensively, Fork Union was relentless, applying pressure and forcing turnovers throughout the contest. Tackles for loss were recorded by
Jack Earley,
Sam Williams,
Joey Sipina,
Willie DeSantis, Raymone Whitner, and
Alex Conley, while sacks came from DeSantis, Conley, John Wilborn, and Earley. The defense forced multiple turnovers, including interceptions by
Keinard Tyler and a two-pick performance from
Nygel Hill.
Kade Lathum added a fumble recovery, and
Aidan Washington forced a fumble that
Raymond Vanover returned for a touchdown to cap off Fork Union's dominant outing.
