CROZET, VA – The Fork Union Military Academy middle school basketball ended the season with a 51-42 victory at the Field School Tuesday afternoon.
"It is always good to end the season with a win," said head coach Darren Keithley. "We had a fast start and a 16-point lead in the first half of the game, but the Field School was well-coached and made a run to tie the game. After a timeout and refocusing ourselves, we retook the lead and didn't give up. I am so proud of our team and how they handled the season."
Fork Union was led by seventh-grader Ethan Wells, who drained several three-pointers, and eighth-grader Ryan Hunt, who had a solid all-around game of rebounds, points and defense.
The win lifted the Blue Devils to 2-5 on the season.
