SHORT STORY:
Fork Union Military Academy's Postgraduate basketball team tipped off its season with a trip to Annapolis, Maryland, for its annual matchups against the Naval Academy Prep School and Navy's JV squad. The Blue Devils started strong with a 73-58 victory over the Prep team before a hard-fought 66-63 loss to Navy's JV.
QUOTE: "I was happy with the trip and how Fork Union played," said Head Coach Bob Williams. "It was a great learning experience for a young, new team. Playing against strong, well-coached competition will only help us grow. Our defense was strong enough to win both games, and our offense will continue to improve with more practices and game experience."
"We also had the chance to watch Navy Basketball practice, which was an eye-opener for our players. They saw firsthand the intensity, resilience, and communication skills we strive for at FUMA. Watching the #25-ranked Navy Football team play was another highlight, making it a great overall trip."
