SCORE: PG Lacrosse 21, Averett University 6
RECORD: 16-9-2
SHORT STORY: Fork Union Military Academy's Postgraduate Lacrosse team earned a dominant 21-6 win over Averett University on Saturday afternoon at Frank R. Campbell Stadium.
QUOTE: "After a slow start and falling behind 2-0, I was happy with how we responded to end the first quarter with a 4-3 lead," said head coach
Chris Panos. "We carried that momentum into the second quarter, outscoring our opponent 6-0 to take a commanding 10-3 advantage into halftime."
"We continued that trend in the third quarter, adding six more goals while allowing only two, giving us a decisive 16-5 lead heading into the final period. We controlled the remainder of the game, notching five more goals and giving up just one to secure the 21-6 victory.
"We'll review the film this week as we prepare with excitement to host our first-ever PG home game against NCAA Division III opponent Warren Wilson College on Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Stadium Field. The game will be live streamed for those unable to attend," Panos added.
