SHORT STORY:
Fork Union Military Academy's Postgraduate Lacrosse team picked up an impressive 16-3 victory over Juniata College this past weekend. The dominant performance marks the Blue Devils' sixth consecutive win, improving their overall record to 13-4-2.
QUOTE:
"I thought we did a great job sharing the ball on offense, showing poise and patience, which led to high-percentage scoring chances," said head coach Chris Panos. "More than half of our goals were assisted, which was great to see as it reflects how well the guys are playing together."
On the defensive end, Fork Union delivered a cohesive performance, limiting Juniata's opportunities and creating turnovers that fueled the transition game.
"The defense and both goaltenders played exceptionally well as a unit, being disruptive and causing many turnovers," Panos added. "We also cleared the ball efficiently, won the ground ball battle, and, most importantly, stayed out of the penalty box for the most part."
Looking ahead, the team will review film and fine-tune their play before hitting the road again.
"We'll clean up some areas this week in preparation for our next matchup against NCAA Division III Randolph College on February 8," Panos said.
