SHORT STORY:
Fork Union Military Academy's Postgraduate Lacrosse team continued its dominant run with a decisive 23-3 victory over Randolph College this past weekend. The win marks the Blue Devils' seventh straight, improving their overall record to 14-4-2.
QUOTE:
"We got contributions from everyone on offense, which was great to see as players stepped up and continued building chemistry and confidence," said head coach Chris Panos. "Seventeen of our 23 goals were assisted, which highlights our unselfish play and willingness to share the ball – both key to our success."
Panos also praised his team's defensive effort, noting their ability to limit the opposition to just three goals for the second consecutive game while efficiently controlling possession.
"The defensive unit, along with our goaltenders, was exceptional. They cleared the ball effectively, allowing us to maximize time of possession and maintain pressure on our opponent," Panos added. "We also controlled faceoffs and ground balls, which helped us manage the game's tempo. The team only took one penalty, which speaks to our ability to play with controlled aggression and composure."
Despite the dominant performance, Panos acknowledged areas for improvement as the team prepares for its next challenge.
"There are still miscues, turnovers, and execution issues in key areas that we'll address this week. I'm eager to get back to work with these young men as we prepare to face NJCAA Howard Community College in Columbia, Maryland, on February 15 at 1 p.m."
