FORK UNION, VA – Five runs in the second inning helped lift the Fork Union Military Academy Prep baseball team over Fishburne Military School, 13-1, Tuesday afternoon following an extended Easter Leave weekend.
The win lifted the Blue Devils to 3-4 overall.
Following a RBI single by
Hayden Miles in the first, Fork Union put up five runs in the second thanks to RBIs from
Drue Hackenberg and
Carter Crawford.
Miles got the win for Blue Devils. The senior lasted five innings, allowing four hits and one run, while striking out five and walking zero.
Nick Broughman took the loss for Fishburne Military as he went one and one-third innings, allowing eight runs on three hits and striking out three.
Blue Devils tallied nine hits on the day.
Luke Wilson, Hackenberg, and Miles all had multiple hits for Blue Devils. Blue Devils was sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
Brent Lowry had the most chances in the field with eight.
Dylan Bell led Fishburne Military with two hits in two at bats.
The Blue Devils return to action when they host Trinity Episcopal School Tuesday, April 10 at 5 p.m.
