FORK UNION, VA – The Fork Union Military Academy Junior Prep tennis team defeated Covenant School, 7-2, Thursday for its first win of the season.
 
The win lifted the Blue Devils to a 1-2 overall record.
 
"What an awesome win," said head coach Sonia Brandon. "Our players have been working very hard and came very close beating Trinity Episcopal on Tuesday, but they took the momentus and turned it into a win against a very talented Covenant squad. Hopefully we will continue the momentum into next weekend when we play Saint Anne's Belfield."
 
Fork Union started out strong, winning four singles matches. Kien, Duy, Hayword and Williamson all recorded victories for the Blue Devils.
 
In doubles, Fork Union dominated as it swept all three matches.

Exhibition Doubles Match:

1. Yichen Li & David Santos – W, 8-6 

The Blue Devils return to action Thursday, April 19 when they travel to Saint Anne's Belfield for a 4 p.m. match.
