FORK UNION, VA – Senior
Danny Gardill of the Fork Union Military Academy varsity lacrosse team has earned 2026 All-Virginia Prep League honors, the league announced Friday.
The recognition marks the program's first All-VPL selection in more than 10 years.
"I couldn't be happier for Danny," said head coach Mike Tyrrell. "He truly deserves this honor. Danny played such an important role in our offense. We asked a lot of him, and he delivered all season. He came up big for us in clutch moments and put up strong numbers against very talented teams. I'm excited to see the impact he makes at Frostburg State University next year. It has been a pleasure to coach him, and he's left some big shoes to fill."
In nine games this season, Gardill totaled 29 goals and seven assists for 36 points while adding 18 ground balls and eight caused turnovers.
He delivered two standout performances in VPL play, scoring four goals against Collegiate School and five goals against Woodberry Forest School.
Gardill is the son of Gregory Gardill and Dorothy Higham-Gardill of Kitty Hawk.
