SHORT STORY: The Fork Union Military Academy Varsity Football team picked up a strong 31-16 road victory over Virginia Episcopal School (VES) on Saturday afternoon in Lynchburg. The Blue Devils delivered a complete team performance, with the defense holding VES scoreless through three quarters and the offense powering the way on the ground.

QUOTE: "It was a great win for Fork Union," said head coach Dealton Cotton. "Our defense played outstanding football and didn't give up any points until late in the game. Offensively, we ran the ball well and stayed disciplined throughout. I'm proud of how our guys competed and executed on both sides of the ball."

KEY PERFORMERS:

• Nehemiah Allen: rushed for over 200 yards
• Bryant Ray: added more than 100 yards on the ground
• Chandrashekhar Mishra & Julius Mondesir: anchored the defense, each recording 10-plus tackles
