ARLINGTON, VA – The Fork Union Military Academy Junior Prep football team defeated Bishop O'Connell High School, 35-7, Thursday afternoon.
The victory gave the Blue Devils their first win of the season as they improved to 1-6 overall.
"The boys played hard and although it has been a long trying season, they are starting to buy in," said head coach
Brian Bodine. "Coach Howard and Coach Krogh do an amazing job with the boys in helping them prepare, not just for football, but life, helping them make the transition from boys to men."
V'Jon Hampton shined on both sides of the ball to lead the Blue Devils. Dominic Walton recorded a huge fumble recovery that turned into a 20-yard return, while
Marcus Billingslea recorded a pair of rushing touchdowns.
Miles Mayfield also recorded a timely interception.
Fork Union returns to action Tuesday, Oct. 30 when it travels to Woodberry Forest School for its season finale at 3 p.m.
