Hall of Fame
Like his brother Wilson, Pliny Marshall Cropp was voted FUMA's Best Athlete in 1936 when he lettered in three sports - baseball, basketball and football.
He was captain of the undefeated State Championship football team of 1935, while the 1935 basketball tam was also undefeated. Cropp himself was an honorable mention to the All-State Prep Basketball Team.
At VPI and SU he was on the basketball team his freshman year. Cropp's love of sports continued past college where he was the baseball Coach of the Cardinals Athletic Club and the Albemarle Weaving Company team.
